Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of Foldy - StandBy Mode, an Android application published by MCODE.

Using Foldy

Foldy is a personal display app for compatible Android phones. It can show a clock, calendar and other widgets when you place the phone in a supported resting position. You must install Foldy from a legitimate source, follow these terms and applicable law, and have authority to grant any permissions you choose to enable.

MCODE grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, revocable licence to use Foldy on Android devices you control, subject to these terms and Google Play's applicable rules. You may not copy or redistribute the app except where law permits, reverse engineer it except where applicable law expressly permits, misuse its services, or interfere with another person's device or data.

Free and Pro access

The Free version includes automatic StandBy on supported devices and one basic widget at a time: a clock or a calendar. Foldy Pro unlocks the additional widgets, styles and customization described in the app and on Google Play. The offered features may change as the app is updated.

Any subscription price, billing period, trial availability, renewal date and applicable taxes are shown by Google Play in the purchase flow before you confirm. An eligible monthly offer may include a free trial; eligibility and the duration are determined by the displayed Google Play offer. A monthly subscription renews unless canceled through Google Play before the next billing period. A lifetime purchase is a one-time payment for the Pro entitlement, not a subscription. Google Play handles payment, cancellation, refund requests and transaction records under its terms and applicable law. Restore purchases inside Foldy uses the Google Play/RevenueCat purchase record.

Permissions, content and the lock screen

Overlay access and a visible ongoing notification are used by Android for automatic foreground monitoring. You control whether to enable monitoring and can stop it in Foldy or Android settings. Optional location, calendar, photo and notification access is requested only for the matching feature. You remain responsible for choosing content that you are entitled to use.

If you select photos, calendar events, notifications or activities for StandBy, you understand that the selected information can appear on a locked screen. Consider who can see the device. Foldy does not unlock the device and does not replace Samsung Phone, Samsung Clock, emergency calling or the system alarm.

Device compatibility and safety

Automatic activation depends on Android permissions, sensors, device configuration, battery management, display-transfer support and manufacturer behavior. It is not guaranteed to work on every device, after every update, or in every position. Foldy is not an alarm clock, medical device, safety monitor or emergency service. Do not rely on it for waking, emergency communication, or any purpose where a missed or delayed screen could cause harm. The system lock screen and device security remain in control.

Weather and other third-party services

Weather is optional and depends on MET Norway and, when used, the device's geocoding/location provider. Third-party services have their own terms and availability. Forecasts are informational and may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate. Weather is not an emergency or safety service. MET Norway forecast data is licensed under CC BY 4.0, subject to its API terms.

Updates and availability

MCODE may maintain, update, modify or discontinue features for compatibility, security, legal or product reasons. Android and Google Play may install updates according to your settings. Some features require internet access; automatic posture monitoring can use battery while enabled.

Privacy

Use of Foldy is also subject to the Foldy Privacy Policy, which describes local processing and optional third-party requests.

Intellectual property

Foldy, its name, app code, visual design and publisher materials are owned by MCODE or licensed to MCODE. These terms do not transfer ownership. Rights in content you select remain with their respective owners.

Disclaimer and liability

Foldy is provided subject to the mandatory consumer rights and warranties that apply under law. To the extent the law permits, MCODE does not promise uninterrupted operation or universal device compatibility and excludes implied warranties that may lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including mandatory consumer rights.

To the extent permitted by law, MCODE is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from reliance on an optional widget, forecast, posture trigger or third-party service. This paragraph does not affect liability that applicable law does not permit MCODE to exclude.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Foldy and uninstall it at any time. You can turn off monitoring and revoke permissions in Foldy or Android settings. MCODE may restrict or end a licence if necessary to address material misuse, security, legal requirements or discontinuation. Any mandatory consumer rights continue to apply.

Governing law and consumer rights

These terms are governed by the laws of Croatia, without depriving consumers of protections that cannot be waived under the mandatory law of their country of residence. You may use any competent court or alternative dispute process available under that law.

Changes and contact

Updated terms will be posted here with a revised effective date. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms where acceptance is legally valid. If you do not accept, stop using Foldy and cancel any subscription through Google Play.
